Come and join Josie and be prepared to roll up your sleeves, get your hands wet to create your very own art piece. Please note this a two-part class, ocurring on July 10 and July 17. Please bring: Old large towels (to keep water off the floor) and small quart size bucket/bowl to hold water.
In this workshop students will learn the art of felting over a resist while creating a felt eyeglass or phone case.. Starting with the basics, students will learn how to layout the fiber, embellish it then “wet felt” into a strong finished product. They will incorporate a variety of specialty embellishments to further enhance their final project. You will also get tips on how to further embellish with beads or hand stitching, and will have the option to add a strap to their final case.
CLASS 1: 2 HOURS, 7/10/25
- Explore color options for project
- Create simple resist
- Layout the fiber for your vessel/add simple embellishments
CLASS 2: 2 HOURS, 7/17/25
- Felting/finishing (fulling)
- Discuss finishing details to be done at home
