Rangoli  is an art form which is native to India.. The patterns are created on the floor. Rangoli patterns can be simple geometric shapes, floral shapes or they can also be very elaborate designs. Some common symbols used in Rangoli are peacocks, lotus flowers, mangoes, and fish. These Rangoli patterns are drawn with a mixture of calcium or chalk powder or rice flour. The patterns can be filled with a mix of materials such as colored powders, sand, flower petals, rice flour, lentils and beans. This forms a Rangoli, one of the most beautiful Indian folk arts. The participants in the group will create Rangoli using fresh flowers, petals, and leaves on a table top. All the materials will be provided. The instructor will guide on design patterns, color schemes, and color placements.
