Free For All: The Public Library (Documentary Screening)

How public libraries shaped the country and continue to be a sanctuary for Americans everywhere.

Documentarians Dawn Logsdon and Lucie Faulknor reveal the history of "the quiet revolutionaries who made a simple idea happen." They chart the evolution of that idea of providing information and expanding literacy "from the pioneering women behind the “Free Library Movement” to today's librarians who service the public despite working in a contentious age of closures and book bans."  (IndieLens)

This film will introduce you to the dedicated public servants "who created a civic institution where everything is free and the doors are open to all." (IndieLens)

Screen the film, then join the conversation about how the public library has shaped your life and our community.
