Salsa is Nuyorican

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Salsa Consultant Jose Obando will present the social and economic influences of this music amalgam created by Puerto Ricans and Nuyoricans in Spanish Harlem.  He will discuss the history and cultural significance of Salsa and give a  dance lesson on the lively merengue from the Dominican Republic.
