In celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Month, which acknowledges the diverse contributions of the AANHPI community to American society, history, and culture, join us for a special craft drawing workshop inspired by the Disney movie, “Lilo and Stitch,” to honor AANHPI culture. Participants will learn about the Hawaiian cultural practice of Hula dancing and its importance as a way to share stories and cultural, ancestral knowledge. Hula dancers traditionally wear accessories such as Hawaiian grass skirts, originally made of blades of the native ti plant, which we will be making in the workshop to accentuate the craft drawing. Registration required.
