Piscataway Public Library
World Language Collection

Piscataway Public Library has a World Language Collection of over 3000 items housed at the J. F. Kennedy and J. W. Westergard Libraries.  While not all of the materials are located at both buildings the  collections are listed in the Library's on-line catalog and can be picked up at either the J. F. Kennedy or J. W.  Westergard Libraries. The collection is also available for inter-library loan as well. As with all other PPL materials, books circulate for three weeks with the exception of new fiction and magazines which circulate for two weeks.

     Materials for adults are offered in the Chinese, Gujarati, Hindi and Spanish languages. The Chinese Language subjects range from health, financial investments and adjustment to life in America, to literature by such authors as Jiuya Yu, Ao Li, Bo Yang and Xiaobo Wang. Reference books include both Chinese and Chinese American dictionaries. 
     The Gujarati Collection includes fiction and non-fiction books and collections of short stories as well as the Gujarati magazine, Chitrakelha. The Hindi Collection offers selections in fiction, non-fiction and biography as well as popular magazines.
     The Spanish Collection contains over 300 items that includes ficiton by native authors as well as translations of popular English novels; non-fiction books such as cook books, home improvement books and self-help books; and videos and magazines.
     The Children's World Language Collection offers materials in Spanish, Chinese, Gujarati, Hindi, and Talalog/Pilipino. Items available include fiction, both in translation from English and written by native authors; non-fiction books including bi-lingual materials; as well as book-and-tape sets, DVDs, songs on CD and CD-ROM games.
