The Local History Collection of the Piscataway Public Library
John F. Kennedy Library

The Local History Collection contains material about the township of Piscataway from its founding in 1666, and the surrounding towns which were once part of the Township including Dunellen, South Plainfield, Edison, New Brunswick, and Highland Park. In addition, some material about Middlesex County and the State of New Jersey are included to provide an understanding of the role of the Township in a larger context.

Types of Material

The collection is available to all interested persons whenever the Kennedy Library is open. All the material in the Piscataway Local History collection is for reference only and may not be checked out. A photocopier is provided in the Local History Room for those who wish to make copies. A microfilm reader/printer is available to read and make copies of the newspapers on microfilm.
