Piscataway Public Library welcomes new Americans.  About 30% of Piscataway residents were born in another country, and many of our townspeople speak a language other than English at home.  We strive to help make your transition into the American culture a smooth one, and hope you will find our collections and services helpful and informative.
  

Foreign Language Materials

ESL Materials

The library maintains book collections in the following languages:

• Chinese - at Kennedy Library
• Gujarati - at Kennedy and Westergard Libraries
• Hindi - at Kennedy Library

You will also find bilingual books for children at Kennedy Library.  
At both libraries you will find foreign films on video and DVD.
    

Kennedy and Westergard Libraries provide English as a second language materials including:

• Books, CDs and audiocassette tapes for learning English
• Government publication Welcome to America, which contains basic information to help immigrants settle in the U.S.

ESL Conversation Group

Piscataway Public Library holds an 
ESL Conversation Group for people who want
 to practice speaking English in an informal setting.
  The sessions are facilitated by volunteers from 
the Literacy Volunteers of Middlesex County.
