The Piscataway Public Library currently offers a limited number of museum passes for checkout at our Kennedy Branch. Below is a list of available passes:

Our Museum Pass Program is made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Piscataway Public Library. 

Who may borrow a museum pass?

Piscataway residents who are 18 years of age or older with a current library card may check out one pass per family. Library card holders must be in good standing; blocked or expired cards are not eligible for this service.

How long may I keep a museum pass?

Museum passes may be checked out for 4 days. Passes may not be renewed.

How often may I check out a museum pass?

No more than one museum pass at a time may be checked out per family. Families are permitted one usage per museum pass type every 30 days. No exceptions will be made due to weather conditions, limited exhibit accessibility, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances. Please plan accordingly.

How may I pick up a museum pass?

Museum passes are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the User Services Desk at Kennedy Library (500 Hoes Lane, Piscataway). Museum passes cannot be reserved in advance. In addition to a library card, eligible borrowers must present a valid photo ID (New Jersey driver license, non-driver identification card, passport, or other government-issued photo ID with birthdate). Information on the photo ID must match library records. All borrowers must sign the Museum Pass Borrower Agreement at the time of checkout.

Who can use the museum pass with me?

Rules vary by museum. Please check the individual museum’s website for the most current and accurate information.

  • The Garden State Discovery Museum admits up to 6 people. Please visit for more information
  • The Grounds for Sculpture pass provides admission for up to 4 adults (seniors and children may substitute the place of an adult) per visit. Children under the age of 5 are not charged admission. This pass does not provide discounts to GFS restaurants or shops. Please see the GFS website for further museum rules, regulations, and exhibit accessibility:
  • The Intrepid Museum pass provides admission for up to 6 people to the Intrepid Museum and the submarine Growler, with express line access. A Piscataway Public Library card must be presented along with pass to gain admission. Children under 3 are not charged admission. Please note: This pass does NOT provide access to member events, programs, simulators, or the Space Shuttle Pavilion. Entrance to the Pavilion can be obtained for $7 per adult and $5 per child.   • The Morris Museum pass admits up to 2 adults and 3 children. Please visit for more information.

How much does the museum pass cost?

The museum passes are free to borrow (unless returned late or lost). The overdue fine for museum passes is $10.00 per day, up to the full replacement cost. If not returned within 14 days after the due date, the museum pass will be presumed lost and borrowers will be charged the full replacement cost. Replacement costs vary according to museum and listed on the Borrower Agreement for each museum.

How should I return the museum pass?

Museum passes must be returned in person to the User Services Desk at Kennedy Library (500 Hoes Lane, Piscataway) at least 15 minutes prior to closing. Museum passes may not be returned in any book drop (indoor or outdoor) or alternate location. The signature of an individual 18 years or older is required to complete the appropriate paperwork when returning museum passes. The return process may take a few minutes. Please plan accordingly.
